Stop Chasing Happiness. Start Living With Purpose.

Having a purpose is one of the most powerful sources of true happiness. Yet many people mistake purpose for immediate gratification, mundane achievements, or simply ticking off society’s expected boxes.

What gives us a genuine sense of meaning is rarely found in collecting those external “checks” of having life together according to widely accepted norms. It lives beyond that.

So what is the purpose, really? And how do we find it?

Purpose expands our vision. It deepens and broadens the way we experience life. It creates impact — not always in big, loud, or grand gestures, but often in the smallest, most personal and meaningful ways. It stands in contrast to simply fitting into expectations.

Sometimes, purpose is about making a difference within a small circle — a community, a shared space, a few lives where what you do truly matters. It can begin with something deeply personal: your hobbies, your skills, your ideas. When nurtured and given a chance to evolve, these can shift into a project, a business, or something you simply share with others — something that brings a sense of accomplishment, fulfilment, and joy.

You never really know where the things that naturally interest you might lead, once you allow yourself to enjoy the process of creating and start sharing your gifts and passions. Often, it’s in that space that meaningful experiences are born.

At its core, purpose is felt most strongly when we create, collaborate, and connect.

That’s why it can take many forms:

  • a spiritual connection with others,

  • contributing to social or environmental change,

  • caring for people, animals, and the world around us,

  • bringing ideas into reality,

  • travelling to expand your understanding of cultures and perspectives,

  • protecting what matters,

  • inspiring others,

  • making an impact on someone’s life,

  • or even growing through and overcoming your own challenges.

Purpose isn’t singular or fixed. It’s limitless, just like we are! It can evolve, multiply, and shift over time. The most powerful way to begin is simple: start with what you love and allow yourself to share it.

From there, it becomes your story — as unique as your fingerprint. There is no formula. No single path.

And it’s certainly not as simple as finding the “right” job, buying a home, settling down with a partner, or raising a family. While these can be meaningful parts of life, they are often just the foundation — not the full expression of what’s possible. At times, they can even become quite limiting on how far we allow ourselves to go… and what we believe we’re capable of creating and experiencing in this one life.

Empathetically Yours,
